What this site collects

The site itself keeps no database of visitors. When you load a page, the hosting and analytics services below receive the data described with each one. If you email us, we receive what you send. That is the whole picture — every service that receives visitor data from this site is named on this page.

The services we use

• Vercel hosts this site. When your browser loads a page, Vercel receives your IP address, your browser details, and the page requested, and keeps standard server logs. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views, visitors, and referring sites so we can tell which guides get read.
• Google Analytics (Google) tells us how the site is used: pages viewed, sessions, referrers, and device and browser information. It also records interactions with the course-provider links on our pages — when a provider link is clicked, and when one scrolls into view — labeled with the provider, state, placement, and product, so we can measure whether the provider comparisons are being seen and used.
• Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) shows us how readers move through the guides. Clarity records sessions on our pages — mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling — and turns them into session replays and heatmaps. We use them to spot confusing layouts and dead ends and fix them. Clarity is a session-recording tool; recording is what it is for, and it runs on every page of this site.
• Course providers receive data only when you click through to them. Some links to course providers on this site are affiliate links to RocketCert, our affiliate partner, and an affiliate link carries a tracking ID. When you click one, the provider's site receives the click, including your IP address, browser details, and the page you came from, and can record whether you went on to buy. If you buy, we earn a commission. A plain link to a provider sends nothing beyond what any website sees when you follow a link to it.
• Email: if you write to us, your message is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our Gmail inbox. We receive your email address and the contents of your message, and we use them to reply and to fix errors you point out.

Cookies

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set cookies so they can tell visits and sessions apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the guides read the same either way. Blocking the analytics scripts themselves also stops the collection described above, and nothing on this site breaks if you do.

What we never do

We do not sell personal data. We do not run advertising or ad-tracking pixels. We do not collect names, addresses, or payment details — this site sells nothing and signs nobody up. The only money the site makes is the affiliate commission described above.

Your choices

Because there are no accounts here, there is no profile of you on this site to download or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, write to us and we will delete it. If privacy laws where you live give you rights over your personal data, contact us and we will honor them. That covers the email you have sent us, which we hold ourselves, and the analytics and session data described above, which Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Vercel hold on our behalf. For the analytics data, tell us what identifies your visits — the browser or device you used and roughly when you visited — and we will put the access or deletion request to those services and confirm to you when it is done. Changes to this page

If we add or remove a service that receives visitor data, we will update this page to name it. The date at the top shows when the page last changed.
